30th Anniversary (September 6, 2025)
On September 6, 2025 our CWL council celebrated its 30th anniversary, in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus 30th anniversary and the 45th anniversary of the dedication of our church. Following a special anniversary mass, refreshments were served outside and members (past and present!) were able to mingle and visit. Thanks to all who helped with this celebration!

Crowning of the Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary (May 11, 2025)
Our CWL ladies organized and took part in the Crowning of the Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary this year.

Birthright Baby Shower (April 8, 2025)
Parishioners attended a fun-filled baby shower for Birthright prior to our April meeting. Lots of treats, games and laughs. Several gifts were donated to Birthright as well as $845.00. Thanks ladies!

New Member & Milestone Pins (March 11, 2025)
Pins were awarded at our March 11th, 2025 meeting to new members and those celebrating milestones. New members were Anya Myers and Naomi Myers (daughters of Mary Myers). This year's milestone recipients were Nickie Lake (25 years), Eleanor Wagar (20 years), Mary Grace Amann (20 years) and Linda Boese (10 years). Father Charles was also presented with the Spiritual Advisor's pin and stole.

Snowflake Bazaar (November 16, 2024)
Our annual bazaar was held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. It was well attended by both parishioners and families from the local community. Special thanks to all of the volunteers who assisted in so many ways with this event!

CWL Past President Meets Pope Francis (Sept. 13, 2023)
On September 13, 2023 our President, Kelly Neville visited Rome and was blessed to meet Pope Francis...the thrill of a lifetime!

POTLUCK SUPPER (June 13, 2023)
On Tuesday, June 13, 2023 the Catholic Women's League hosted their spring potluck supper for the parish. New CWL members received their member pins and milestone pins were also presented. It was a relaxing and fun evening!

Pie Making (November 10, 2018)
Pie-making has become a staple prior to our fall bazaar. Many of our members come together to create these mouth-watering treats!

2018 Convention
Thirteen of our members attended the recent Convention in Kingston. Several members participated in the Living Rosary.

Spring Pot-Luck (May 8, 2018)
Our spring pot-luck was held on May 8, 2018. Four new members received their pins from the President and Bernadette Burgess received a 45-year pin! We also celebrated Father Shea's birthday and anniversary with a cake.
The overwhelming success of the 10th anniversary of the Pennies to Pesos (now called Loonies for Pesos) campaign was also highlighted with a special collection at mass and at our pot-luck dinner. Several members then presented Sister Mary Joseph Mazzerole of the RHSJ with over $2000 to forward on to the mission of San José de Ocoa in the Dominican Republic, where Sister Jo had worked for 42 years.

Holy Cross Student Support (September, 2017)
At our September, 2017 meeting, former OLMC students currently attending Holy Cross spoke to us about their upcoming trip to Jamaica, to assist with their Jamaican Mission.

Strawberry Social (June 24, 2017)
A very successful Strawberry Social was held before Mass on Saturday, June 24th, 2017, to celebrate Canada 150. Our ladies provided a wide range of strawberry treats in a festive red and white setting. The social event was well attended and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all who helped with this event!

Crowning of the Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary (May 14, 2017) & Birthright Baby Shower (June 2017)
In May, our ladies participated in the Crowning of the Statue of Mary on May 14th. At our June 2017 meeting we held a baby shower to collect items for Birthright.

"Crafty Ladies" - Our Craft Group (March 22 & April 5, 2017)
On March 22nd and April 5th, 2017 a number of our ladies gathered in the Hall to prepare lap quilts and Christmas crafts. We learned how to make many new Christmas items for the fall Bazaar. Refreshments were provided and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Theresa Shanks for organizing the event and all of the CWL members who participated!

Advent Wreath Making (November 27, 2016)
On Sunday, November 27th, 2016 the Catholic Women's League provided materials for parish families to create their own Advent wreath. Eighteen families took part in this event, with parents and children putting their own designs together with the help of our CWL ladies. Father Tim blessed the wreaths and sent the families on their way with Advent prayers in hand to share in their homes. Refreshments were provided and everyone had a good time. Thanks to Bernadette Burgess for organizing the event and all of the CWL members who participated!
Snowflake Bazaar (November 12, 2016)
Thanks to all of the volunteers, donors, pie-making bee ladies and everyone who enjoyed our Snowflake Bazaar on November 12th, 2016. Once again, the Bazaar was a huge success, despite the change in date to the second Saturday in November. Special thanks to our convenors: Theresa Shanks (Christmas Shoppe), Cathy Splinter (Luncheon Room), Kelly Neville (Bake Table) and Shirley McDonald (Silent Auction). We couldn't have done it without you!
Strawberry Social (June 26, 2016)
A very successful Strawberry Social was held after Mass on Sunday, June 26th, 2016. Our ladies provided a wide range of strawberry treats to a group of about 60 people. The social event was relaxed and there was plenty of time to chat with friends. It was a great way to move into summer! Thanks to all who helped with this event!

20th Anniversary Dinner (May 10, 2016)
On May 10th, 2016 our Council continued its year-long celebration of 20 years with an anniversary pot-luck dinner. The event was well attended with lots of food, fun and sharing of our council's history. New members were welcomed, our founding members were honoured and milestone awards were presented. The evening ended with viewing of an anniversary movie prepared for the event. DVDs of the movie are available for $5.00.

World Day of Prayer (March 4, 2016)
A very successful World Day of Prayer was hosted on March 4, 2016 by Blessed Sacrament CWL, coordinated by Carol Daigle. The World Day of Prayer was written by an ecumenical group of women in Cuba with the theme, Receive Children. Receive Me. The day was a huge success with approximately 175 participants. Thanks to the CWL members who worked so diligently to make this Day of Prayer a success. We were also fortunate to have women from 8 churches as readers. The music was provided by Bernadette Burgess. Our Guest speaker was Doris Thomas who has been sent on 4 missions to Cuba from Cataraqui United Church. Since the theme was about children, it was wonderful to have the cooperation of Miss Cain, the Grades 4/5 teacher, from Our Lady of Mount Carmel school. We had three students as readers, as well as the Grades 4/5 class attending the service.
Following the prayer service, a "Taste of Cuba" was held in the church hall. The reception was well attended. Refreshments were set up in stations with the different foods and beverages of Cuba. The offerings at the service totalled $847.00 and has been sent to the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada. In Canada the offerings provide grants for projects in our own country and throughout the world.

20th Anniversary Launch (November 10, 2015)
At our November 10th, 2015 meeting we enjoyed cake and social time before the meeting, to share memories of our 20 years as a Council. Over the next year we will continue to celebrate our anniversary with special events, such as the November 29th breakfast, hosted by the Knights of Columbus in honour of the Catholic Women's League. We hope as many members as are able will join us in these events, to help us celebrate our year!
